I took this with a number of otheer GSPPers in the fall of '05. David really likes havinng policy folks in the class and will make you welcome, and does not hold you to the same grading as the ARE PhDs (which is very good, considering the problem sets and final were waaaay above my head in the economic mathematics.)
The class is economics, straight up, and can often feel like a parade of models (in all their calculus glory). But the topics are very interesting and David is world-class in his field. He is especially into technology adoption, environmental services, biotech, and biofuels/energy.
He's an entertaining guy, but not the most clear lecturer (and I'm not referring to his voice, though that also takes some getting used to).
Grading is on attendance, PS, mini-paper, and final, but like I said he takes it veeerrry easy on GSPPers. Don't worry about the grade - but only take if you like econ.
